Dear Senior Campus Community,
Overnight, the Department of Education has release advice for schools to operate in accordance to the government’s COVID-19 pandemic plan.
It is expected that if any students are unwell they remain at home and do not attend school. This may conflict with the current assessment schedule. To support this, all students adhering to this advice will be assisted with an appeal that will not require a doctor’s certificate. In these cases, please contact the school to advise that your student is absent due to respiratory illness and an appeal is required. The Department has also asked if students present to school unwell that they are sent home.
Staff will be working on avenues to make work accessible from home. Any student on leave who does not have a laptop will be able to borrow one from the school to support the continuance of their study whilst at home.
In line with this advice, we will be cancelling the Athletics Carnival, SRC Induction Assembly and Parent Teacher Evening, all scheduled for later this term. We will plan alternate arrangements for parents to receive information regarding student progress and this will be communicated shortly. The majority of excursions planned for this term have also been cancelled.
I will communicate any further information as it becomes available. In the meantime, I seek your assistance at home in assuring students who are unwell with respiratory illness, they should remain at home until symptoms resolve and, where appropriate, see advice from a medical practitioner (and call ahead first). Remember to also clean year hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds with soap and water and cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.
Kind regards
Miss Marisha Blanco
Principal (rel)
